What’s in a quote?

Sinful Sunday

This months promo is about the use of a quote. I thought about this for a long time and couldn’t make up my mind to find a quote first, then think of an image. Or take an image and then find words that match it. That led me down a whole new overthinking rabbit hole!

How many of us are guilty about finding a random quote that actually doesn’t mean anything to us but fits the subject well. Whilst that’s not always the case, for me, it’s definitely more often than not. And for this prompt I wanted it to be something meaningful. So I hatched a plan.

Instead of finding a quote, I decided to ask the people closest to me to send me quotes that meant something to them. They could be from history, films, books, TV shows, song lyrics or whatever else they wanted. The quotes themselves didn’t matter, they could be serious or fun but they had to be meaningful to the individual in some way.

Then I had those quotes written on me. A way of using the powerful words and creating something even more powerful.

So what’s in a quote you ask? Beauty, strength, vulnerability and power. That’s what those words mean.

  1. This is such an amazing image. Several reasons why I love it – the handwriting is soooo neat! I’ve tried to write on people and it really isn’t easy. The way you’ve fitted in so much and done such a wonderful coverage. The contrast and the black and white is a perfect way to highlight the words. I spent ages trying to read it all. It made me think as well as smile. And you also look so beautiful and relaxed too. Bravo!
