I’m someone that has relatively little experience with rope. I’m also someone who would like to change that.
I had a shoulder injury (not rope induced) that has left me with permanent nerve damage with pins and needles in my fingers and also numb fingers. All this has meant I’m a little bit terrified of being tied in rope, just in case more damage is done and I’m just not aware. Now, let me make this clear, my partner knows what he’s doing with rope but as with all things, there are risks involved.
I have got to a stage where I’m a little bit bored with my injury, I’ve got myself to a point that I know what I’m living with and I want to live a little and have fun. I know there will be limitations and if a tie runs over my shoulders or pins my arms tightly into a pose, I know to either avoid it completely or to make sure I don’t hold it for long.
I’ve also never really done much self tying, a lot of that is down to struggling to tie knots with numb fingers but I also enjoy people doing things to me, yes I’m an attention whore!
However, when I saw ML Slave Puppet’s new meme I thought it would be the ideal time to give something new a try. With my partner across the hallway working but within earshot when I needed photos taking.
It turned out I needed his help sooner than later. Apparently I don’t have a patient bone in my body and when I couldn’t get the basic tie around my ankle right without getting myself all tied up in the wrong kind of knots so I sulked a bit and then called him through to help me.
I’ve decided I don’t need to do this as a self tie challenge, we can do this together and learn new ties we may not have tried. Besides, having someone tie me means they can also do mean things to me whilst I’m helpless!
The one thing I found with this futomomo is that my knees are old and decrepit so I couldn’t get my ankle against my thigh. Luckily I no longer worry about doing thing by the book. Injuries have mean adapting and this is no different. Whilst I couldn’t stay in that position for long, I think we can definitely have fun with this tie again.

A lovely tie, and I relate to that lack of impatience, which is (partly) why I have zero interest in tying rope/doing bondage, although I can be persuaded to be tied up, lol. I like the snug feeling of a good tie (like a squeezy hug), and I like the pictures that we take, lol.

Again ‘him indoors’ is sacrificing himself to the blog…. or using it to have his wicked way with you. *grins

I’ve not done much rope either and am looking to change that. Enjoy your ropey journeys and adventures!

So glad you feel able to explore rope again, I know it bothered you a lot when you felt that it was maybe something you couldn’t do again.
The tie looks great, and yeah, I’m with you on the lack of patience! :p

Sorry to hear about those pins and needles, but glad you have a tie-me-up partner.
