This months fabulous writing
I’m envious of everyone by Eye
This really resonated with me, I very often feel I’m not good enough or should do things a different way. However, for me social media is a good thing, its given me connections I would never have made in the physical world and allowed me to truly be myself. I do need to remind myself that actually we tend to present a positive image of ourselves online, whilst its not necessarily decitful it does present an unrealistic view and we need to be mindful of that when we look up to others.
Electro-play – Master’s Touch by Submissy
This is such a good piece of writing. Everytime I’ve read it my body reacts just like the first time. I get so lost in the moment it feels like its me laying there, me feeling the sensations, me experiencing that scene. I’m getting all squirmy just writing about it!
Breast Cancer Awareness – Check your boobs by Tabitha Rayne
I don’t think a single one of us hasn’t been affected by cancer, it seems to be more and more common and in particular breast cancer feels like a rite of passage and not a shocking illness anymore. That shouldn’t be the case but it is important to catch it as early as possible none the less. When its impacted my family we have dealt with it with humour, we do laugh at images of dogs with balloon boobs or pink cupcakes with cherry nipples. Thats who we are and how we cope but I’d hate to upset anyone along the way. I digress. Tabitha’s post is raw and to the point. She takes us step by step through an emotional breast examination. Something we all should do but I suspect a great many of don’t with any regularity.
This moment by Molly Moore
I have always admired Molly. Her openness and honesty about deeply personal topics is a true inspiration for us all. It isn’t easy writing, let alone about topics that are painful and yet this is one of those occasions. Whilst there is some sadness about a chapter in her life coming to an end, that also means a whole new chapter is opening and that is a happy and exciting moment too. I know she already knows this but I shall say it again, Molly, I am proud to call you my friend.
This months gorgeous images
Sinful Sunday: Forest by Livvy
I love this edit. It seems I have a thing about double exposure type images especially those that involve woodlands and trees, I guess I’m a natural wood nymph at heart. There is something so beautiful at getting back to nature and using the natural world in photography emphasises that for me.
Door of dreams by Marie Rebel
As soon as I saw this image I couldn’t draw my eyes away. Everything about it is incredible. The shape of her figure, the angles of the stairs and the upward angle of the photo itself all combine to create an absolutely stunning image.
Three Wise Monkeys by Focused and Filthy
This series of photos, along with ther commentary made me giggle. I love images that convey fun and this certainly does that. Not only is it fun but socks! And argyle socks are my favourite too.
All Hallows’ Eve by Eve Adler
I love Halloween, it is such a fun time of year and with that comes lots of fun photographs. As soon as I saw this from Eve I was grinning from ear to ear. It is just briliant!
