What's the Buzz

This months fabulous writing

[Sexuality] The Pain of Tolerance by Floss does Life

I hate the word tolerance, I hate it because it is meaningless. Acceptance is what I really like and strive for. I’ll even accept people not liking what or who I am because people are entitled to their opinion. Tolerance is a lie. Tolernace is putting up with something whilst actually hating it. Just because you don’t share an opinion doesn’t mean you have to always vocalise that displeasure, there are times and places for that but honest is always important. That said people need to keep an open mind and be able to learn, we all make mistakes. Denying we make them is just daft, learning and growing is far more important.

Being Overlooked by Submissy

This resonated with me so much. I’m one of those invisible people, the ones that neither stand out for being loud nor stand out because you see them lurking in the corner. I just blend into the crowd and don’t get seen. I’m talked over in conversations, my ideas aren’t even heard let alone considered. I rarely make an impression on people so I’m easily forgotten. I’m one of those people that never really achieves what they’d like to, even my blog is a little meh, neither good nor particularly bad. Sometimes being overlooked can be a good thing, sometimes hiding is exactly what is required to give me space to breathe in the madness surrounding me.

Setting Boundaries Brought Up Messy Feelings and a Past I’d Rather Forget by Kayla Lords

Ooof! This hit me right where I didn’t expect it to. I grew up terrified of my Dad, his temper was through the roof. I have two vivid memories that stay with me forever. Firstly him shoving me so hard my head broke our TV, which was obviously  my fault too! Then there was the time I asked to go to the toilet before I did the washing up and he pinned me against the fridge with a knife to my throat. Looking back I wonder where my Mum was at the time, she was there but I assume to afraid to step in. He’s a different person now but something still holds me back from a good relationship with him. I guess thats why I’m such a people pleaser, too scared to upset them. Funnily enough, my sister ran away from school one day to protect her friend, it seems we’ve both ended up with similar needs to help others. I clearly won’t offer any advice but please be kind to yourself. Those people in your life that really care about you won’t mind if you need to say no, those that do aren’t worth your time. Those words are easy for me to say, its only as I’ve become an angry forty year old woman that I’m starting to understand them better!

101 (simple) pleasures by Molly Moore

I think this is a brilliant idea, so much so I am going to steal it for myself too. Taking time to think of lifes pleasures isn’t something we do often enough, life flies past in a blur and we don’t get to appreciate the beauty as much as we should. Looking back on the list when we’re having a bad day helps ground us, its good for our mental health to relect on the good things when things don’t feel as good. Something tells me some of these ideas will also make it onto my list too!

This months gorgeous images

Dilly Dilly by Exposing 40

Everything about this makes me smile. Learning the meaning of words is always a good thing and probably fills up brain space I need for more inportant things if life too! I’ve often wondered about taking a trip to a lavender field but assumed they were always so busy…it appears not, so its now on my list. I’m a big fan of all things purple so lavender always calls out to me until I get close enough to smell it, sadly I cannot abide the scent!

One shot two ways by Focused and Filthy

Both of the shots in this post are simply stunning. However, I’m drawn to the image of her foot, which is quite an achievement when I’m so foot averse. The curl of the toes and the folds on the bottom of her foot are just mesmerising.

Leather by Ms Kiki E

Holy Moly, this is so fucking hot! I love the biker chick/rock chick look. Its something I wish I could achieve myself. There is something so dangerous about this that seduces me. Don’t even get me started on biker gang bang fantasies!

Field of Poppies by Purple’s Gem

Whats not to love about this. The vivid contrasts of the red and green of poppies always fills me with joy. If you add wax play into the mix that I’ll be jumping with joy as I was when I saw this stunning image. Gem is also a far more patient model than I could ever be!

After the rain by Quinn Rhodes

This is one of those images that inspires me to do something similar, I need to purchase an awesome umbrella to do so though. I love so much about this. The outside world is perfect for taking photos, my exhibitionist side says so. Quinn has the cutest of butts and the most awesome, envy inducing brolly!! Rainbows always shine brightest after the rain.
