I may not be much of a girlie girl. I’m not good with shopping, hair or make up but I just adore heels. Or at least I love looking at gorgeous heels, I’m absolutely useless at walking in them, to the point I’ve been told I ‘look like a bloke in drag’ and no I wasn’t impressed by the comment either!
I reason that I’ve got funny shaped feet because I need to have some kind of strap to keep shoes on my feet, no amount of toe scrunching seems to stop them falling off and sending me crashing to the ground inelegantly!
When I opened my Christmas present a year ago I was over the moon to find a shoebox, I bounced around my lounge excitedly saying ‘shoes’ over and over again. He looked at me, shook his head and told me to open the box. On doing so I discovered that, actually, he’d bought me theatre tickets but wanted the gift to look bigger than an envelope. Don’t get me wrong, I was so happy with the gift but it didn’t elicit a reaction quite like a shoe box did!
Roll forwards to this year, I was asked several times what I’d like for Christmas, this time round I had spotted a pair of gorgeous shoes I wanted more than anything else in the world. I asked if he could buy them for me but he wasn’t giving me any clues. Panic set in, had he bought them or had he got something else and if he hadn’t I may not get them because they’re bound to sell out! He asked me several times and I would show him the ones I wanted whilst repeating ‘shoes, shoooooooes, shoooosies’ in every possible voice until I think he took the hint and then I’d tell him some more just in case I hadn’t quite made it clear enough.
This time, when I unwrapped that gift, I made sure to open the box before squealing with delight. I think they are the most gorgeous and unusual shoes I’ve ever seen, what do you think?

I was going to do a tribute photo, but I came to this one. Uhm, I’m not so sure.

These are absolutely divine! What a great gift!

Those are great shoes! And I’m glad you make your gift wish so very, very clear. That does make life much easier for the gift-giver! As an occasional gift-giver, I can never be told too often.
Great photo, with story!

Such pretty shoes!
It might be worthwhile going to a reputable shoe shop to get fitted by someone who has a clue. You can’t tailor shoes but there are all kinds of shims and things that you can put in to take up space where there’s a gap. It’s hard to walk elegantly if your shoes are falling off!
By way of example re the fitting issue, my feet are relatively short from the bottom of my heel to my ankle, so that many shoes bite at the ankle. I now wear small lifts – problem solved.

I adore these. Anything tan coloured I want and the same goes for tartan and blue tones. So these are ticking all the right boxes. We need to see you in them <3

Such wonderful cute shoes, what a lovely present xx
Krystal
I love them! I am a total fan of shoes that are quirky, but not too much, and a retro/vintage vibe is a bonus. I hope you post a pic sometime when you are wearing them <3

Very sexy! Love the color…the ribbon laces…the plaid…
Krystal and I both love sexy heels, and always point out pairs that we’d think the other would enjoy…these would definitely get noticed! 😍

Absolutely wonderful but I don’t think I have the wardrobe to do them justice

They are interesting and very pretty, That comment made to you was horrible. 🙁

There’s something about them that feels Dickensian to me – they’re so fun! I LOVE the laces. Glad you got what you wanted. ^^

I have to agree, they are unusually gorgeous. What I love however is the tale about the shoe box the previous Christmas and the joy of the shoe box this Christmas. Stomp around in them, blast what others think or your walking style, enjoy every second x

I have massive shoe envy for these glorious things. I thought the purple ones were stunning but these are just fucking awesome. I can’t wait to see you in them

I like them!
Once, many years ago, my then-fiance got me shoes for Christmas. They remain one of the most awesome gifts I have ever received. (Not heels!) There’s something about a man picking out shoes for his lover’s feet that is just so.damn.sexy. *fans self*
And the toe-scrunchy thing not working? I totally get that. I have narrow heels (as in, the heel at the back of my ankle – not the heels I wear to play dress-up) and my feet slide around or slip out. I prefer boots for that reason; I’m ‘strapped in’ so to speak. 🙂

They look like they were chosen with love x
