When I decided I was going to attempt to get a power station as a Scavenger Hunt location, I had imagined I would be writing a post about how empowering it is taking photos in risky places. Instead let me tell you about the fun that was had.
We arrived at the location on what felt like the windiest day ever. 50mph winds were howling and needing to lean into it as we were walking towards the power station was hard work, especially across a shingle beach.
When we found a good spot, another photographer stood right behind the Keeper, luckily he was facing the other way so I was keeping a close eye on him and hoped he wouldn’t turn around! Whilst I’m sure the view would have made him smile, I am all about everyone’s consent.
Then there was the dress problem, I had planned ahead and was wearing a dress that buttoned all the way down so was ideal for scavenger hunts. Turns out, it’s not so ideal when it’s blowing a hooley! Thankfully we had a Honey on hand to help me catch my dress in the wind and do it back up…or so I thought. Her idea of helping me was to get her hands on me, teasing me before she also gave the camera a cheeky flash.
How our giggles didn’t make the other photographer turn and give us a glance, I will never know!
We did eventually manage to catch my dress and do the buttons up. I’ll let you guess if we managed to get all the buttons through the right button holes first time though.
So whilst taking naughty images is empowering, having someone ‘helpful’ with you and providing some good laughs is even more so. Sometimes sexy is just having fun…if only you could see the utter joy in our faces.
