Dig deeper

A long plaform across a quarry with a person bending over at the end exposing their bare arse

It’s been a tough year here in the Beehive and it’s left us struggling in ways we’ve not experienced before. Whilst I won’t go into the reasons, it’s meant we’ve needed to dig deep and find strength to prop ourselves up and lean on one another for support.

It is moments like these that force us to try harder, and dig deeper, and to discover gifts we never knew we had – to find the greatness that lies within each of us.

~ Barack Obama

There have been times where we’ve had to force ourselves to leave the house, get out for a walk and blow the cobwebs away. It was on one of those walks where we stumbled across this quarry. As we walked past we wondered where the best view of it would be for a great image. We decided this platform that reached out over the end would be a great place.

However, that came with a challenge for someone with a fear of heights. I had to balance not looking down with keeping an eye out on anyone approaching from either the sides or below whilst dropping my shorts and trying not make the platform bounce as I did so!

It was the laugh we really needed and it just showed us that whilst we’re having to dig deep, there’s always someone out there having to dig even deeper.
