Once the needle designs had been unstrung and the needles had been removed, some of them evilly wiggled around as they went, I might add! Mz Mutley then brought out the fire cups, again, this is also something we’d never tried before.
Sir assisted with spraying the cups with the alcohol, Mz Mutley wiped this around and lit each cup placing them on my back over covering some areas where the needles had been removed. I was expecting it to feel hotter if I’m honest but obviously as the cups made a seal against my back and created a vacuum the flames were instantly extinguished.
It was a very strange feeling, a tightening but not uncomfortably so. The suction made the blood trickle out of the needle wounds a little, if they’d been placed even quicker after the needles were removed then possibly more so. I was also surprised how easily they came off too, I thought breaking the seal would involve a bit more tugging but that wasn’t the case at all!
This is the second of a three part account of a recent experience we had. See the first here.
Come back next week for the final part.
